How did the two of you meet, and who made the first move? John and I met through mutual friends while living in Athens. Years later, John made the first move and asked me out on our first date. We went to the Braves home opener game in April 2014. Now, exactly two years since our first date, we will be getting married. Who were the first people you told about your engagement? The first people we told were our parents. We were on vacation with John's parents, so they found out immediately when we came back from the beach after John proposed. Next, we called my parents and told them. John had asked for my dad's permission the Friday before we left, so they knew it was coming. Everyone was thrilled! What was your favorite part about working with the T.K. Anderson team? Working with the T.K. Anderson team has been a great experience. I came into the store with an idea of what I wanted to get for Mia. I knew I really liked the art deco style for her and I knew she loved yellow gold. Wes took the time to explain everything in full detail. After being educated on the different aspects of a diamond, I got to hand pick the perfect stone for my bride. Not only that but the team was going to custom design the ring for me. The other great part was their ability to work with me even though I was on a limited time frame. I had the proposal planned but it was only a few months away and I needed a ring. I got updates the entire time the ring was being designed which helped with the anticipation. Wes and the team were able to take all of my ideas and created the most unique and one of a kind engagement ring. I could not be more happy with the final result. Bride, what do you like most about your new ring? It's impossible to say what I like most about my ring because it is stunning from every angle. I find something new I love about my ring everyday. There is so much detail and I love that the setting is unique. I could not have dreamed of a more perfect engagement ring! I still cannot believe it's mine. Every time I look at it I see John's face and think off all the thought and effort he put into getting it for me. What are you most excited for in your future together? They say when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible. And that's exactly how we feel. We finally found our soulmate and cannot wait to start our life together. We already have so many blessings to be thankful for but know the future is only going to get better. From finding a home and making it ours, to starting a family of our own, we are ready to take on this journey together.
